As November ended, December is here meaning that Christmas and many other end-of-the-year events have arrived. Brussels has also prepared itself to welcome visitors and locals to a wide range of events and celebrations. Here we will introduce you the some of the events to help you enjoy this year’s last month.

Winter Wonders
Winter Wonders is an annual event that starts from the 25th of November until the 1st of January in the city center. This event features the Christmas market with different attractions, a Christmas tree display with a sound and light show at Grand Place, and various cultural and entertaining activities.
Christmas Market Brussels
The Christmas market is one the most important event of the year as many people look forward to it. According to last year’s statistics, the annual event attracted approximately 2.5 million visitors. For this year, it is said that over 200 chalets are gonna be displayed showcasing a variety of businesses. The market takes place in 5 different but close locations in the center of Brussels: Saint-Catherine, Bourse, Place de la Monnaie, Place De Brouckère, and Black Tower showcasing different and various businesses as well as attractions like the Ferris wheel, artificial curling rink, ice rink and a cultural exhibition of Québec.
Grand Place Brussels
At Grand Place, the main square of Brussels, a big decorated Christmas tree is displayed. As well as a 360° show of music and light every hour during business days and every 30 mins during weekends.
Cultural & Entertaining Activities Brussels
There are several other events that are set to take place: comedy shows, live concerts, acoustic sessions, ice skating performances by members of the Cirque du Soleil, and parades. For more information and details on these events click here.

Lastly, Bois de la Cambre has arranged a skating rink and light displays to add more magic to the festivity. The forest will welcome you with a skating rink, different chalets with various food and events under the project of Winter Woods.
Harry Potter Forest Experience Brussels
Harry Potter reminds us of the colder seasons of the year, autumn and winter. Therefore, for the best experience, we would recommend you to go now. The experience is set in the woods of Groenenberg Castle and Domain just a little out of Brussels.
The forest is being set to bring to life the most magical forest scenes as well as creatures giving you the best experience of the magnificent Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. You will get to face fan-known creatures like Hippogriffs, Nifflers, and more. Also, you will get to cast spells and become a wizard yourself as the interactive part of the experience. Lightopia Brussels
As the light experience has been illuminating people’s Christmas since 2019 in other parts of Europe, for this winter Lightopia has decided to come to Brussels. The grounds of the Castle of Grand-Bigard are exhibiting the fairytale light experience with interactive whimsical installations and displays and a wonderful water show. Candlelight Concerts Brussels
The Candlelight Concerts are classical music renditions of popular music, in a hall decorated full of candles, putting you in an amazing ambiance. For this time of the year, there are a few Christmas-themed concerts taking place. Starting with a popular Christmas song concert on the 15th and 16th of December, then a tribute concert to Nutcracker on the 20th of December.
